If your car insurance policy has lapsed, you can still get a new car insurance policy done but there would be inspection from the insurance company before policy issuance and you might not get No Claim Bonus for that policy. Otherwise all terms and conditions would remain the same.

Insurance Policy would have to be in the same name as the RC because the RC has the name of the owner and the insurance policy can only be purchased by the car owner. Hence, you would first have to transfer the RC to your name before you can purchase an insurance policy for your car in your name.

Sir, i taken the car insurance from iffco tokeyo for my wagon r petrol varient.Now i want to convert my car in CNG varient.Is it reportable to insurance compony ? Or policy will be continue without reporting to insurance compony.

You need to report it to the Insurance Company since the complete variant of the car would be changing now and the price of insurance policy and its associated risk may also vary. However, you can inform them at the time of renewal as well.

You need to raise a claim within 15 days of the accident, else the part would be rusted and the claim would be rejected due to old accident. dear sir, during renewal for a m. v lapsed policy (beyond 3 month can a co. offer NCB, if it is there then what will happen during claim settlement in case of accident. thanks, susant panigrahi

If 90 days have lapsed from the due date of the previous plan, then NCB would not be payable. You would be eligible for a NCB under the following 2 conditions:
