Dear Seema,

As you have mentioned that you are having a policy with Medi Assist Health Insurance, they would be the Third Party Administrator and not the Insurer. There are only liasioning betwen your company and the insurance company.

I am corporate employee and have health insurance policy for last 4 yrs (with company and include my parents). If i will left company, is it possible to continue that plan with insurance company or can avail benefit of pre existance dease.

If you have a Health Insurance Policy from your company then the contract is between your Insurer and your Company only as long as you are employed in that organization and not beyond. Group Policy is a contract between the Group of Employess like an organization or an association which has a group of people under it and the Insurer. Individual Policy is a contract between the Policyholder and the Insurer.

does a group policy provide some better terms and conditions in the insurance coverage? also please tell me which government organisation regulates the terms and conditions in a policy ? for eg-is there a regulation which alllows insurance company to allow first 30 day cooling period? (plez dont just reply IRDA) thank you

Group Insurance Policies have specific terms and conditions as desired and claim processing is always easier. Further Group policies usually do not have medical tests for the members of the group. IRDA does regulate the terms and conditions of all individual and group policies. It depends on some of the conditions for which there is a waiting period like maternity claims are admitted aftr 90 days
