Export Credit Guarantee Corporation

Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) is a government of India enterprise administered by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. 

Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India was setup to enable smoother functioning of the exporter in India by eliminating risks associated with payments generating from other countries. The insurance cover provided by Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India also helps the exporters in getting better access to credit facilities from financial institutions. Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India is the fifth largest credit insurance company which deals with exports of any country.

ECGC provides protection against non-payment by the importers. Because of this insurance cover, financial institutions are better placed to lend and provide larger credit to the exporters. The company also provides credit ratings and shares information on different countries and the risks associated with doing business in those countries.
