Dear Sir., i would like to take an health insurance for my mother aged 62yrs. She is diabetic since a couple of years but has no complications related to that. But she was diagnosed with liver disease recently. Kindly suggest me an apt insurance asap

Insurance companies may not extend covers to people of older age groups with a serious medical condition. This is why it is important you plan your insurance needs at an early age. For now try to apply with Star Health for their Senior Citizen Plan

Hi i want to take a health policy for my complete family. myself 43 years, my wife 36 years and my son 6 years with type-1 diabetes.

By Manga Raju on Oct 08, 2013 Reply

Dear Raju, there is plan from Star Health for those with Diabetes but it is for Type 2. Your best option would be to try a PSU company -  New India, National or Oriental Insurance. They have started covering it with a waiting period of 4 to 6 years.

Please declare the condition as you may face issues with claims otherwise.

If Everything is excluded what does it cover. I believe Bharti AXA is only collecting premium for first 2 year and covers nothing. Its a shame.
