Hello Sir,

I have submitted medi claim papers to MDI insurance company after 192 days from date of discharge and now MDI company needs a approval from Reginal manager of national insaurance company.
so please suggest us what should i do

By Neeraj Vijjan on Oct 04, 2014 Reply

This could be a standard procedure where the claim processing is delayed by 6 months or more. Visit the nearest branch of National Insurance and write an application to them requesting their approval to process the claim. Take the necessary approval and give it to MDI

hello Sir,
I would like to know the CSR for National Insurance and how much do you personally recommend people for this insurer. Is it better than other public sector insurers?/
Thanks in advance for the reply.

By Rekha Nair on Sep 28, 2014 Reply

Claim settlement ratio of general insurance companies are not declared product-wise. So it is difficult to estimate the health insurance ratio. Moreover, there is a fair mix of satisfied and dissatisfied customers with every health insurance company. You can buy the mediclaim policy from them. However, now there are several options in the market from private insurers which offer far better features and benefits. Have a look at the different health insurance plans for your needs –

Dear Sir, I have bought Happy Family Floater policy through PNB since last two years. My age is presently 58 and my wife age is 50 yrs. I have not mentioned any pre-existing diseases while taking policy. Now, I would like to take health insurance after waiting period of 4 years from National Insurance declaring pre-existing diseases. Is there any difficulty will arise without losing waiting period??

Ashok Kumar Das
Narendrapur, Kolkata

By Ashok Das on Aug 17, 2014 Reply

1) If you wish to discontinue your policy with PNB and move to National Insurance then it will be referred to as Portability.

Click here to read about the process of portability

2) If you simply wish to buy a new policy from National Insurance and continue your policy with PNB then it is absolutely fine and you do not need to worry about anything.

In either of the options, you will not face any difficulty in declaring your pre-existing diseases

By Arti Arora on Jan 23, 2014 Reply

Dear Arti, you can make a claim immediately after taking the plan. But insurance companies will cover only accident related claims in the first 30 days of you taking the policy. This does not apply at the time of renewal. After the 1st 30 days all types of hospitalisation will be covered.

Apologies for the delay - our systems were undergoing some outages and could not reply.

Dear Sir, I did not understand your question. Could you pls clarify a bit more - we would be glad to help.

But the points raised by you, are the general exclusions in most policies. It meas that you cannot make a claim for those circumstances.

Thanks for prompt response
My Question is I get claim amount from my old insurance company for disease angioplasty.
I take new policy from national insurance and declared my preexisting disease in national insurance policy I agree that the don't give me any benefits up to 3 renewal ( if i don't need to claim old and national insurance company up to 4 years ) then i get claim from National insurance company ? after 4 year as per their Exclusion no 1

because I want to stop my old insurance policy after exclusion period over

Replied By Bhagawan Sant on Jan 21, 2014 Reply

Dear Sir, if you have an existing policy you can carry over the benefits of waiting periods to the new policy. But you will have to then use the "Portability" Option. This will have to be done at 45 days before your existing policy expires.

The specific anwer to your question is a Yes if you have ported your plan. I would recommend that you take the services of a agent or broker to help you through this process.

Replied By Deepak Yohannan (MIC Staff) on Jan 28, 2014

It's quite surprising that your Company has formulated a Policy wherein Pre-existing Diseases are not covered even after a time-elapse of years together from the date of initiation. If this is true , then what is the point of coverage ? It then boils down to coverage only for Influenza , Diaria ,Fever these sort of low-risk ailments.
Would like to have your comments on this.

Hi,
I relocated from one company to another company in Jan 2013. Both these companies are having tie up with national insurance for medical health insurance policy. I paid my premium last year (2012) in my previous organization and this year (2013) I paid after joining the second organization. Now the issue is that I went for maternity claim through my current organization, my claim has been rejected saying that I should complete 9 months of service to eligible for the claim. Could you please let me know is there any other way to get my claim because I am paying my premium continuously to same insurance company but from different organizations.
Thank you.
Regards,
Mari

By Mariappan Shanmugavel on Oct 08, 2013 Reply

Dear Mari, this is the problem with relying on your group insurance to take care of your medicals bills. The group plan which your current employer has could have this clause built in. Group policies are often customised for each employer and in most cases you will not even be aware of the same. Check if there is such a clause in the company's plan. If yes, there is nothing that you can do about it.

I have mediclaim policy under National India Insurance Company bearing policy no 15350048128500005593 in the name of Anindya Kumar Ghosh/Munmun Ghosh/Anamitra Ghosh. Payment due on 10-09-2013.I want to renew the policy on 12-09-2013. Will I get the full benefit with the previous year ? How many days will I get the relaxation period to renew the previous policy to maintain my coverage.Pl let me know.

By Anindya Ghosh on Sep 12, 2013 Reply

Hi Anindya, you are eligible to a grace period of 15 days from the date of expiry for making the payment for renewal. Your policy would then be active with all benefits. However for the gap period, the cover would not be applicable.

I would not recommend that you take a break in policy unless there is some very compelling reason.

Just inquisitive - why do you want to do this for 2 days?

The said policy is continuously renewed and never had any claim policy

All of sudden this year when I had been to your guindy office your official refuse hand over me the renewed policy on 27/3/2012 even after issuing receipt and taking printout of the said renewed policy

Your officials had some internal problem hence they have refuse to hand over the renewed policy and cancelled the same with the reason that Vijaya bank and NIC is not continuing the said scheme

These said policy taken few years earlier and continued.
I have taken the policy with the future planning and all of sudden if you people discontinuing the scheme which is putting a policy holder on life threat

Where is the mistake on the part on the insurer who has paid full premium and taking the policy from the Government organization.

Please clarify whether now the V Arogya policies are eligible for renewal or not

Further I also request you to inform your all the concern office of your decisions so that policy holders will be escaped from your UN warranted pillars to post traveling as guided to me by your Guindy officials
