Key Features

No Room rent capping

Depending on the amount of sum insured, the room rent capping varies. Room rent capping is basically a limit on expenses of the type of room chosen at the time of hospitalisation. This plan has zero room capping in each variant without paying any additional premium.

Renewal discount

This plan offers renewal discount by providing a 5% off on the payable premium amount. The renewal discount is applicable for 4 continuous claim free years i.e. maximum up to 20%. Reliance HealthWise Plan offers an additional 12% discount on the premium if the policy is purchased through any of the internet channels.

Discount for Girl Child

HealthWise Plan provides a special discount of 7% on the premium of a family floater in a situation where two girl childs (dependent) are covered and 4% in case a single dependent girl child is covered.

Free Medical Check ups

One can avail a health check up for various diagnostic tests right from the day the policy is purchased. You can utilise the health check up facility on a cashless basis at any 7000+ Reliance Network Hospitals.

Critical illness Cover

This plan provides exclusive cover equivalent to the cover amount on being detected with critical illnesses. HealthWise plan covers critical illnesses such as:

  • Cancer of Specified Severity
  • Open Chest CABG
  • Myocardial Infarction (First Heart Attack of specific severity)
  • Kidney Failure requiring Regular Dialysis
  • Multiple Sclerosis with persisting symptoms
  • Major Organ / Bone Marrow Transplant
  • Stroke resulting in permanent symptoms
  • Aorta Graft Surgery
  • Permanent Paralysis of Limbs
  • Primary (Idiopathic) Pulmonary Hypertension
Day Care Treatments covered

Day care procedures are when the policyholder takes medical treatment at a hospital that doesn't require hospitalisation for more than 24 hours. The cost arising out of these medical treatments will be covered under Reliance HealthWise Health Insurance Plan. Around 500+ day care procedures are covered under the HealthWise Plan. Domiciliary Hospitalisation Cover

Domiciliary hospitalisation is medical treatment of illnesses, which is a normal situation that is done at a hospital. In a situation where the illness or disease can be treated by giving home treatment and as advised by the Doctor, then it will be treated as Domiciliary hospitalisation. The expenses incurred during domiciliary hospitalisation in the policy period will be covered under this plan.

Pre & post Hospitalisation Cover

In the HealthWise Health Insurance Plan, expenses occurring before being hospitalised and post discharge from hospital are covered. Any medical expenses incurred prior to 30 days of hospitalisation and 60 days post discharge from the hospital are covered under the Standard Plan. The cost incurred is accepted if the policyholder is admitted in-patient for the same reason.

Road Ambulance

In case of emergency or due to medical necessity, one can opt for a road ambulance under the HealthWise Plan. The claim amount will be reimbursed on providing a proper bill. The coverage amount depends on the variant chosen. 

Modern technology

Treatments like Robotic surgery, laser surgery, weight loss surgery are also covered under Health Wise Plan. Under this plan the policyholder can avail up to 50% of the cover amount for modern treatments.

Donor Expenses

If the policyholder has to go through an organ transplant, the medical expenses for the organ donor’s in-patient treatment along with the policyholder is covered. However, the pre & post hospitalisation expenses of the donor won't be covered under this plan.

Recovery Benefit

In a situation where the Policyholder is admitted for more than 10 days, the insurer provides with a lump sum amount of Rs. 10,000. This benefit is available only in Silver and Gold PlaN Variants.

Expenses for accompanying person

This plan covers the expenses of the person accompanying the insured person during the in-patient hospitalisation. The expenses covered differ on the basis of the variant pan chosen by the insured person.

Daily Cash

In a situation where the policyholder is hospitalised for more than 3 days, then the insured person is entitled to receive daily cash benefit for the income loss during the hospitalisation period.

Nursing Allowances

The policyholder can avail the benefit of receiving nursing allowance up to the limit specified according to the variant chosen. It is applicable when the services are available at empanelled hospitals of reliance or by qualified nurses at the policyholders place. 

Medical Test

At the time of purchasing the policy, if there is a requirement of a medical test, then 50% of the expenses will be reimbursed under this plan. To avail this benefit, the tests are to be done at the medical centres specified by the Reliance Health Insurance Company.

Co-payment

Co-payment is sharing of the medical expenses in a ratio specified by the insurer. It does not reduce the cover amount but only the burden of the policyholder. The co-payment ratio varies on the basis of zones and is optional for the policyholder residing in Zone B. However, if a person residing in zone A ((Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh & Bangalore) geographical area makes a claim in zone B (Rest of India), then he/she is liable for 25% co-payment.

angle down iconIf I am admitted to a hospital for less than a day, is the expense still covered?

The hospitalisation expenses are covered only if you have been hospitalised for a minimum period of 24 hours. However, certain day care treatments, which do not require 24 hour hospitalisation, are also covered under our Health Insurance policy.

If you have not made any claims against your policy during the year, Reliance General Insurance offers you a renewal discount. In this you can avail 5% off on the base premium on each claim free renewal. The maximum overall discount is 20% over all claim free periods.

No, there is no limit on the number of Health Insurance claims made in a policy period subject to the cover amount being exhausted.
