United India Insurance Company appeals to sell agri insurance products in western region

Mr. Milind Kharat, Chairman and Managing Director of United India Insurance Company said that their company has appealed to Agriculture Insurance Company (AIC) to sell crop and weather insurance products in the western region of the country, which is currently facing severe drought situation. Horticulture crops like sweet lime, grapes and mangoes are the worst effected crops due to draught.

Chennai-based public sector general insurer, United India Insurance announced the launch of its mobile application which allows existing customers to renew their policy using their mobile phones.

ONGC Biggest Insurance Policyholder of India will pay higher premiums

The state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is expecting a higher insurance premium to renew the cover of its offshore assets which are estimated to be valued at $33.7 billion. Last year, ONGC paid a premium to the tune of $25 million to insure its offshore assets and it may have to pay a higher premium this year to obtain same amount of cover.
