Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group Plc (JLT), one of the leading providers of insurance and reinsurance, today announced the launch of their operations in India in a joint venture with Sunidhi Group. To begin with, the company will offer services in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune.
JLT acquired 26% shareholdings in Independent Insurance Brokers Private Limited, broking subsidiary of the Sunidhi Group (Indian Financial services Group).
The group’s investment in India is in line with their strategy of expanding presence in markets where long term growth is supported by fundamental macro–economic capabilities.
The joint venture between JLT and Sanidhi group has received necessary approvals from the regulatory authorities and the operation is expected to commence by next month. Mr. Sanjay Radhakrishnan has been appointed as Head of its Indian operations.
For last 25 years, JLT has done business with Indian companies by helping obtain international reinsurance support for domestic policies.
