Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Ltd has appointed Mr. G Murlidhar as the new Managing Director.
The new MD is one of the founder members of Kotak Life Insurance. Before this appointment, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Kotak Life. He holds CA, ICWA, and CS degrees and possesses 26 years of work experience. He has worked with companies like MDS Switchgear, NDDB, and Nicholas Piramal. He moved on to an assignment with Ion Exchange Ltd where he assumed varying positions eventually holding the position of Company Secretary and General Manager. Prior to joining KLI, he held the position of VP-Finance at Gujarat Glass Ltd. At Kotak Life Insurance, he oversees all aspects of Finance and Client Servicing, including Operations, Internal Control, Regulatory, Finance and Accounts, and Treasury.
Commenting on his new role as the Company MD, Mr. G Murlidhar said, “I am committed to building on the strong business franchise and goodwill we have created over the last decade. We will work towards sustained value creation and efficient use of capital.”
He added, “Special emphasis will be placed on bettering the customer proposition and better cost management, factors which in the past have stood us in good stead.”
