New India Assurance (NIA) has recorded over 1 crore subscribers for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
Launched just few weeks ago, the PMSBY scheme provides the beneficiaries a cover of Rs. 2 lakh in case of death due to an accident for a meager premium of Rs.12 per annum. Mr. G. Srinivasan Chairman and Managing Director at NIA said that the Company had tied up with over 170 banks, including six public sector and eight private sector banks to offer PMSBY.
