In this series we will try to explain everything about the insurance industry in India in simple words – the terminology used, how the policies function and the details of the policy which are usually not very easy to understand even for the financially savvy people. It is an attempt which we hope will go a long way in helping the consumer make an informed decision when purchasing an insurance policy.[more]

We will also include the latest trends and product innovations which are launched by different insurance companies and how they would benefit the consumer. Any new product offering will be dissected by us to understand how they work and to figure out if there are any catches which a consumer should be wary off.

To start off, we will be focussing on the retail insurance policies – policies which are purchased by individuals to protect their families and themselves – namely life insurance, health insurance, personal accident insurance, motor insurance, travel insurance, home insurance and shop insurance. While some of the basics and frequently asked questions have been covered in the FAQ section of our website, we will attempting a much more basic and comprehensive approach here.

We hope you like this series of posts and further hope that this helps every consumer understand their insurance needs better. Please refer this blog to your friends and family if you think this will benefit them also.
