Ashwin Karthi December 18, 2017 Share this interaction Share this Facebook 0 Twitter 0 I renewed my bike Insurance online. I have been year after year renewing my Two wheeler comprehensive Insurance online. This time the renewed Certificate of Insurance has many mistakes due to clerical error made by the Insurance company. They mentioned my RC number correctly but not the RTO, they mentioned wrong address and wrong bike colour. I raised the complaint with the Insurance company. They asked for RC copy to issue endorsement. I refused to give copy of RC. I asked them how did they get my bike Insurance details? If it is from IRDA database then to recheck there. The Insurance company later gave me endorsement, but even that has a mistake, colour of bike is incorrect. I raised email complaint to the Insurance company, they are keeping quiet. 2 months have passed since Insurance renewal. I don't know whether my Insurance is road worthy? Traffic Police at Chennai may not accept my Insurance papers with mistakes. I asked IRDA via RTI queries but not getting answers. My questions are as follows: During online 2 wheeler comprehensive Insurance renewal whether RC copy has to be given? How Insurance company get Insured details is it from IRDA? Is my Insurance papers correct?. But it is unlikely that this data is sourced from there. It could be a case of some data mis-handling also. Asking for the RC to rectify the mistakes is a standard practice - there is nothing wrong in it. Usually they will display all details of the vehicle before they ask for the payment - so it is a bit strange in your case. It is best to get the small mistakes also rectified by providing your RC copy. Happy to take any more questions on this.... Submit Reply to this Did you find this useful? 0 0
