Oriental Insurance - Universal Health Insurance Scheme

 

Oriental Universal Health Insurance policy has a very low premium and the maximum sum insured is Rs 30,000 only. It covers hospitalisation expenses incurred by an individual or up to a maximum of 7 members in a family. This health scheme is most suited for the economically weaker sections of the society as it has low premium starting at Rs 300 for an individual and between Rs 450 to Rs 600 for a family cover.

  • Provides reimbursement of Hospitalisation expenses for illness / diseases suffered or injury sustained

  • Includes one Maternity Benefit with liability being restricted to Rs.2,500/- for normal delivery and Rs.5,000/- for caesarean delivery

  • Diagnostic tests like X-ray etc, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and similar expenses
  • Cost of pacemaker, organs, prosthetics like artificial limbs etc 
  • Death of  insured person (who is the sole earning member of the family) due to accident within 6 months
  • Disability compensation for earning member

  • Cost of spectacles, hearing aids, contact lenses
  • Dental treatments or surgery unless requiring hospitalisation
  • Expenses vitamins and tonics unless part of treatment 
  • HIV or AIDS related conditions
  • Any condition caused due to an act of war, invasion or nuclear materials
  • Naturopathy treatments
  • Intentional self-injury, general weakness, convalescence, rest cure
  • Death or disablement while engaging in aviation or ballooning, or under influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Any breach of law or criminal activity
