  • Hospital room accommodation is covered till 2% of sum insured subject upto to a maximum of Rs.4000/- per day
  • The fees of the doctors, the Boarding and Nursing expenses, fees of the surgeon and his team of doctors, consultant, Anesthetist and Specialist are also included
  • Emergency ambulance charges for transporting the insured patient to the hospital
  • The cost of medicines and drugs are provided
  • The critical illness cover is provided to the life insured in a lump sum on diagnosis of any of the major illnesses:
    • Major Organ Transplant
    • First time diagnosis of Brain Tumour, Cancer, Chronic Kidney Disease, Hepatoma, etc.
    • Coma
    • Paraplegia and Quadriplegia
    • Cerebro-Vascular Stroke causing Hemiplegia, Acute Myocardial Infarction resulting in Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction of less than 25%

  • Pre existing diseases are also covered after 48 months of continuous insurance.
  • Non-Allopathic Treatments is available up to a maximum of Rs 25,000 per policy period
  • Pre-Hospitalisation benefits are offered for 30 days prior to date of admission to hospital
  • Post Hospitalisation benefits of 7% of the Hospitalisation expenses are payable after the date of discharge

Tax Benefits in Star Health Criticare Plus Insurance Plan

 

Health Insurance premiums paid in any mode other than cash up to Rs. 15,000 and Rs 20,000 for senior citizen are allowed as a deduction from the taxable income each year under section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

 

 

Exclusions - What is not covered in Star Health Criticare Plus Insurance Plan?

 

  • Initial waiting period of 30 days from commencement of the policy, whereby no claims will be admitted during that period.
  • Certain diseases are excluded in the first year of operation like Fistula in anus, Piles, Sinusitis and related disorders, congenital internal disease/defects, removal of gallstones and renal stone, Benign Prostate Hypertrophy, Hernia, Hydrocele
  • Some of the diseases are excluded in the first Two Years of operation, which are knee replacement surgery, Cataract, Hysterectomy for Menorrhagia or Fibromyoma, Prolapse of inter-vertebral disc and varicose ulcers
  • Expenses for diagnostic purposes and Naturopathy treatment are not included
  • Hospitalisation expenses would be paid till the date of diagnosis of major illnesses because once the critical illness is diagnosed, the lump sum benefit is paid out and the policy is terminated
  • There is a 90 day waiting period to receive the critical illness benefit in the first year of operation
