Mrs. Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi, in collaboration with Max Super Specialty Hospital, announced the introduction of Citizen Plus Card for the senior citizens. Under this scheme, senior citizen i.e citizens above the age of 55 years can avail the benefits of all preventive health check up, diagnostics, ambulance facility, outpatient department services, hospital room rent and medicines at Max Super Specialty Hospital.

This card, which will be issued at free of cost and will not have any membership, will reduce medical cost to a great extend thereby benefiting them a lot.

Neeraj Mishra – Vice President Operation at Max Super Specialty Hospital, justifying the launch of this scheme, said that there has been considerable increase in senior citizens living in independent house and requires frequent medical check. This card will ensure that these senior citizens are less dependent on their family members in getting good and timely medical treatment.

According to the statistic provided by Union Health Ministry at present there are around 100 million people above 60 years in India and the number is expected to increase to 198 million by 2030. Further senior citizen population is expected to increase to 12% of the total population by 2025 out of which 10% will be bed sick requiring proper medical attention.
