The much awaited requirement of the union of four public sector insurance companies is about to be fulfilled. These four public sector insurance companies viz: National Insurance, New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance and United India Insurance have decided to hire a total of 2,600 employees at an assistant cadre level. Union was demanding the appointment of fresh people for many years.
This collective decision was taken as between the year 2013 – 2015 around 40% of Class III / clerical cadre level employees are expected to go off. Out of the above 2,600 recruitments, 800 will be appointed by National Insurance while other three will appoint 600 each. Last major employment was done during the period 1977 – 1980 when the segment was publicly owned. 

The eligibility criteria for a prospective employee will be Graduate or 12th Standard pass with minimum 60% marks (relaxation to 50% in case of schedule cast, schedule tribe, physically disabled people and ex – servicemen). The candidate should be minimum 18 years of age and maximum entry age will be 28 years, subject to relaxation for schedule caste, schedule tribe, physically disabled and ex servicemen. The candidate should also have the knowledge of the regional language.

The last date for applying online is 8th June 2013 and the process to be followed is that candidates will have to first clear objective written examination. Thereafter he will be called for an interview and computer aptitude test. Thereafter final selection of candidate will be based on the performance in the three tests. Kolkata based National Insurance company will handle the recruitment process on behalf of these four insurance companies. 

For the above, All India Insurance Employees Association is holding coaching classes in the state of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.  They also plan to open centers in other places. Mr. Raju, Assistant Treasurer at All India Insurance Employees Association, said that they are providing the coaching at free of cost and doing social service.
