The legendary master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, has insured his house in Mumbai’s posh locality, Bandra for Rs 100 crore.

According to sources, the insurance cover is provided by a group of different insurance companies which includes the 4 public sector general insurers – New India, United India, National and Oriental Insurance as well as one private insurance company.

The premium that Sachin Tendulkar will have to shell out for this magnanimous cover will be close to Rs 40 lakh per year.

Sources revealed that the insurance policy has been divided into 2 policies of Rs 75 crore and Rs 25 crore. The first cover of Rs 75 crore is a Fire insurance policy which will take care of any losses arising due to fire and allied perils, terror attacks, burglary and theft, natural calamities like earthquake etc. The second policy is for Rs 25 crore under which household items like electronic equipments, furniture, cricketing gears etc are covered.

According to a survey, a house is considered as the biggest asset by most individuals. Therefore, insuring this valuable asset for such a high amount is not a surprise. Media reports suggest that industrialist Mukesh Ambani insured his house, Antilla for Rs 150 crore. The king of bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has also insured his house at Bandra – Mannat, for Rs 110 crore.
