Warren Buffett has officially set up a shop in India in the form of a website that will sell policies of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company. Berkshireinsurance.com is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc and is now a licensed corporate agent of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.
The company has started to sell car insurance policies of Bajaj Allianz directly to customers through this online channel.
To make its presence felt in the Indian insurance markets, Berkshire India has appointed Metal Communications for its brand building and marketing initiatives. The agency will be responsible for all marketing communications and services that will aid the insurer to make its foray in India.
Arun Balakrishnan, CEO, Berkshire India, said that they have zeroed in on Metal as their advertising agency, as the team brought in the right degree of enthusiasm backed with skill sets. He also added that building a brand in the online insurance industry requires an out of the box approach and feels that the agency would be the right partner for this.
