Benefits in United India Individual Personal Accident Plan


Accidental Death: If the insured person dies because of an accident, then the sum insured will be paid to the nominee in the form of ‘Death Benefit’. 

Permanent Total Disability: It refers to a total disability which is permanent in nature occured due to an accident. If such disability occurs within 365 days of the accident date then the insured is entitled to receive 100% of accidental death sum insured. Some conditions covered in Permanent Total Disablement are as follows -
  • Loss of Sight of both eyes.
  • actual loss by physical separation of two entire hands or two entire feet.
  • one-entire hand and one entire foot or of such loss of sight of one eye
  • loss of one entire foot, Use of hands or two feet.
  • One hand, one foot or such loss of sight of one eye.
  • loss of use of hand or one foot - the capital sum insured chosen by the proposer.

Permanent Partial Disability: It refers to a partial or semi disability which is permanent in nature. It is a disability occuring during the policy period and commencing within 365 days from the date of an accident. Temporary Total Disablement: Weekly compensation up to 1% of sum insured or Rs. 5,000 whichever is less shall be given in the case of temporary total disability. Payout will be held for a maximum of 100 weeks for this benefit. Payout will not extend beyond 25% of the insured's monthly salary.

Repatriation of mortal remains: In this benefit, lump sum payment of Rs. 2,500 or 2% of sum insured whichever is less shall be given by the company for transporting the mortal remains from the place of accident to the insured’s residence or burial ground.

Educational Benefits: This feature is applicable in case of insured’s Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disablement. Payout for this feature will be provided based on the following aspects:
If the insured person has one dependent child below the age of 23 years, then the payout will be equal to 10% of the sum insured or a maximum of Rs. 5,000.

If the insured person has one dependent child below the age of 23 years, then the payout will be equal to 10% of the sum insured or a maximum of Rs. 10,000.

Exclusions in United India Individual Personal Accident Plan

  • Through suicide, attempted suicide or Intentional self-inflicted injury or illness.
  • While under the influence of Intoxication i.e. Liquor or drugs.
  • Arising or resulting from the insured person Insanity or immorality, committing any breach of law with criminal intent.
  • While engaging in Dangerous hobbies such as aviation or ballooning, while mounting into, dismounting from or traveling in any balloon or aircraft other than as a passenger (fare-paying or otherwise) in any duly licensed standard type of aircraft anywhere in the world.
  • Death, injury or disability caused because of engagement in war invasion, act of foreign enemy, Hostilities (whether war be declared or not) War, Rebellion, Revolution, Insurrection, Mutiny, Military or usurped Power, Seizure, Capture Arrests, Restraints and Detainment of all Kings, Princes and people of whatever nation.
  • Death, injury or disability arising because of ionizing radiation or contamination by radioactive substances from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel.
