Benefits in Manipal Cigna Lifestyle Protection - Accident Care Plan


Accidental death:  In case of Accidental Death of the insured, 100% of sum insured will be provided to the nominee as ‘Death Benefit’. Payout of 200% of sum insured shall be paid, if the death occurs while traveling as a fare-paying passenger in a common carrier.

Permanent Total Disablement: If an insured is suffering from Permanent Total Disablement due to an accident then that person is entitled to receive 100% of the sum insured as payout. Payout of 200% of sum insured shall be paid, if the Permanent Total Disablement occurs while traveling as a fare-paying passenger in a common carrier. This refers to a person suffering an Injury due to an accident which occurs during the Policy Period which results in permanent total disablement within 12 months from the date of accident. Conditions related to Permanent Total Disablement are as follows.

Orphan Benefit: This Feature is available in case of Accidental Death of the parents. In such a case the dependent child gets an orphan benefit in which the amount will be equal to the sum insured.


Funeral Expenses: In this feature payout of Rs. 5,000 shall be provided for sum insured of Rs. 5 Lakhs and Rs. 10,000 for sum insured of more than Rs. 50 Lakhs as funeral or cremation expenses. Payout for this benefit with respect to the sum insured is mentioned in the table below.

Education Fund: This feature is applicable in case of insured’s Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disablement. A one time payment shall be provided by the company up to 10% of the sum insured for a maximum of 2 dependent children. Maximum payout for this feature will be Rs. 10 Lakhs per policy.


Loss of Employment: This feature is applicable in the case of Permanent Total and Partial Disablement so that the insured can be financially stable in such circumstances. Payout shall be provided on the basis of the insured’s basic monthly income for 3 months with the salary slip or income tax return as applicable.


Optional Covers:


Temporary Total Disablement: Weekly Compensation of 1% of the sum insured and a maximum of Rs. 25,000 is available in Temporary Total Disablement. Payout will be provided for a maximum period of 100 weeks.
