What is donor expenses in a health insurance policy? | Health Insurance FAQ #26
Feb 14, 2018 | 1413 VIEWS
Almost all of the health insurance plans cover a head called as “Donor Expenses”.

The expenses here refer to the medical expenses for the organ transplant in case it is recommended and approved as part of the medical expenses for the policyholder. So in case, a kidney transplant is required then the cost of surgery for the donor will be borne by the policy. You will have to refer to the policy document to check if there are any limits prescribed for this head.

Since this refers to the medical expenses only, any other payment made to the donor is not payable under the policy.
