Chola MS General Insurance received the Best Insurance Company award for “in-time” claims settlement under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana Scheme (RSBY). The award was presented by the Union Labour Ministry.
RSBY is the brainchild of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India which was launched to provide health insurance to families that are below the poverty line (BPL). Under this scheme, BPL families would have to pay only Rs 30 per annum to get health insurance benefits up to Rs 30,000.
Chola MS General Insurance Company is a joint venture between USD 3 billion Murugappa Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates, and Japan’s Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Limited. The Chennai-based insurer has a network of 108 branches across the country and has recorded a 15% year-on-year growth.
The RSBY project undertaken by Chola MS has been successful in terms of settling the claims in time for the hospitals that have extended cashless treatments to patients. Union Labour Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge presented the award to Chola at a function held recently in Raipur.
Commenting on the occasion, S S Gopalarathnam, MD of Chola MS said, “It is a very proud moment for us that the Government has recognized our claims service for its promptness and responsiveness. It is another milestone in our journey towards customer centricity. ”
The general insurance products offered by Chola MS are health insurance plans, motor insurance policies, travel insurance plans, personal accident insurance, and even home insurance.
