LIC launches WhatsApp services for its policyholder

The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), the largest government owned Life Insurance Company has launched their exclusive WhatsApp service for their policyholders. Now, the policyholders can know more about their existing term insurance policies, statements of ULIP and more on their fingertips. The implementation of this service will be beneficial for the customers and make things hassle free. 

How to register your policy on LIC Portal?

Here are few hassle free steps that a Policyholder can take to register their policy on the LIC portal: 

1. Visit www.licindia.in
2. Now click and open the ‘Customer Portal’ option
3. If you are a new user, click on ‘New User’ and enter the required details
4. Now select your User Id and password and then submit your details
5. Now login into the portal using your User Id
6. Next click on ‘Add Policy’ under the ‘Basic Services’ head.
7. Now add details of your policy to complete the registration

According to LIC’s official statement, the policyholders need to register themselves on the LIC portal to avail this service. Once the registration is complete, they can follow the below mentioned steps to avail the services:

How to avail WhatsApp services provided by LIC? 

Here are few simple steps that a Policyholder can take to avail this services: 

1. Save the mobile no. 8976862090
2. Send ‘Hi’ on the above mentioned mobile number
3. A chatbot will automatically ask you to select an option from the list of services
4. On choosing the service option, the details will be provided to you as per the request

It is mandatory to send the message from the registered mobile number to the LIC Portal. If you have registered on the LIC portal with another number, you can update your WhatsApp number in the customer profile portal.

The policyholders who have registered themselves on the LIC portal can avail several benefits including getting premium details, statement of the ULIP Plan and more through LIC WhatsApp Chat box. LIC has specified a list of services that it provides through their WhatsApp portal.
