Benefits
If the policyholder dies accidentally, then the nominee will receive 100% payout of sum-insured from the company as ‘death benefit’.
n case of Permanent Total Disability of the insured, a payout of 125% of sum-insured shall be given by the company. What constitutes Permanent Total Disability in this plan
n case of Permanent Total Disability of the insured, the company provides a payout up to 100% of sum-insured. The percentage of the payout depends upon the nature of the disability. What constitutes Permanent Partial Disability in this Plan
This feature benefits the child even in the absence of the insured. A one time payment will be paid for the dependent children of the insured, only in the case of insured's accidental death or permanent total disability. Maximum of two children will be covered in this plan and the amount of payout will be mentioned in the schedule of Insurance certificate as an education benefit. Minimum 5% of your sum insured or Rs.50,000 (for sum insured up to 25 lakhs). Rs 5,00,000 will be given on sum insured more than Rs. 25 lakhs. These benefits will be given per child only when they are covered in the plan.
Funeral expenses shall be covered up to Rs 5,000 (for sum insured up to Rs. 25 lakhs). Whereas expenses up to Rs 50,000 will be covered for sum insured more than Rs. 25 lakhs.
Expense related to road ambulance shall be covered up to Rs 25,000.
Expenses up to 20% of Accidental Death sum insured shall be covered and the maximum cap for this feature is Rs 5 lakhs.
Optional Covers consists of some extra benefits which can be added to your policy with base coverage by paying additional premiums.
Temporary Total Disablement: In such a case, 1% of sum insured shall be paid to the insured per week. This weekly payment shall be given for 100 continuous weeks as a lifetime limit. Once this lifetime limit is completed then Temporary Total Benefit cannot be renewed further.
Accident hospitalisation: When hospitalisation occurs due to an accident, medical expenses shall be paid up to 2% of sum insured. This feature is applicable if the hospitalisation is in India.
Loan protector: Financial assistance shall be provided for your latest principal outstanding loan amount. This benefit is generally for the insurer's family to secure them from any outstanding loan payout after the accidental death of the policyholder. For availing this benefit bank details should be provided from your end. You can avail this option maximum up to your base sum insured.
Burns benefit: Lump-sum payment shall be provided up to base sum insured. Maximum amount available for this benefit is Rs 50 lakhs. Payout generally depends upon the severity of the burns which has affected the skin of the person due to an accident.
Broken bones: Lump-sum payment shall be provided up to base sum insured. Maximum amount available for this benefit is Rs 10 lakhs. Payout generally depends upon the severity of the injury inflicted i.e broken bones or fractured bones due to an accident.
Coma benefit: Coma benefit can be availed when the person goes into coma due to an accident. In such a case 25% of sum insured and a maximum cap of Rs.10 Lakhs can be availed in this benefit.
Exclusions
These are the situations in which the Niva Bupa AccidentCare Personal Accident Plan will not function. You will not be able to claim anything in such scenarios.
- Suicide or self inflicted injury, whether the Insured Person is mentally stable or not.
- War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities, civil war, martial law, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurper power, riot or civil commotion.
- Any change of profession after inception of the policy which results in the enhancement of our risk, if not accepted and endorsed by us on the Schedule of Insurance Certificate.
- Committing an assault, a criminal offence or any breach of law with criminal intent.
- Death or disablement caused by ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel.
